Award-winning guitarist Chris Allard is a
versatile performer. Experienced on stage and in the studio, he
performs in genres ranging from jazz, rock, blues, musical theatre,
big band, accompanying singers, solo guitar, to chamber music groups
or playing with symphony orchestra.
Chris studied jazz and classical guitar at the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama (London), the Malmo Conservatoire (Sweden) and the
Guitar Institute (London). He was joint-winner of the Ovation guitar prize 2000,
received an award of a guitar from the Barbarolli foundation 2002,
and was a finalist in the Gibson guitar competition at Montreux Jazz
Festival 2004.
Chris has performed at many venues in the UK and around Europe
including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Giverny Festival, the Barbican
Centre, Ronnie Scott’s, Montreux Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Festival,
Brecon Jazz Festival, Midem Festival- Cannes. He has performed with Jamie Cullum, John Halliwell & Mark Hart (Supertramp),
Gwyneth Herbert, John Dankworth, Jacob Magnusson, Gareth Williams
and supported/performed alongside Georgie Fame, Amy Winehouse, Manu
Di Bango, Jeremy Pelt, the Drifters, McFly, Darius, Michael Ball,
Skin (Skunk Anansie).

Chris Allard Quintet
The Chris Allard Quintet play a mixture of contemporary jazz-related
original music. It features Sam Bullard (saxophones), Ross Stanley
(piano) and Jonny Brierley (bass).
Fiction
‘Fiction’ is a new group mainly playing original modern jazz
music. It features Graham Fox (drums), Ross Stanley (piano),
Jonathan Spall (saxes) and Rian Vosolo (bass).
Minuano
‘Minuano’ is a new group performing arrangements of music by great
guitarist Pat Metheny. Formed by drummer John Blease, also featuring
Ben Bryant- vibes/ perc., Richard Pryce- bass, Jez Wiles- marimba/perc,
and Chris Allard- guitars.
