Ruth has worked with the international pop group 'Morcheeba',
touring and recording on their latest album 'Charango'. She is
currently keyboard player for the band 'Ilya',
who have just released their debut album "They Died For Beauty".
She plays the funky organ with The Forster-Hammond Trio who are
featured on the Acid Jazz release ‘Hammond Street’, and has just
formed her own jazz piano trio.
Ruth features on vocals, sax and keyboards on her debut album “All the
good things”. The CD combines a heady mixture of loose-limbed funk,
soulful melodies, jazz sensibilities and fresh, honest lyrics .
Ruth has appeared on TV’s ‘Later – with Jools Holland’, played a
weeklong residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London, UK) on
sax and was interviewed on Radio 4’s “Woman’s Hour” as a
representative of up and coming female musicians."
As a piano vocalist Ruth has
a varied repertoire
of jazz, blues, soul and pop. Performing material made famous by the
like of Nina Simone, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Stevie Wonder, Van
Morrison, Aretha Franklin, and so the list goes on.
